In line with the official logline, it appears as though Ripley will comply with a somewhat comparable plot to 1999's The Gifted Mr Ripley.
"Scott's Tom Ripley is a grifter scraping by in early '60s New York. He's hired by a rich industrialist to travel to Italy to try to convince the man's dilettante son, Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn), to return house. Accepting the job is Tom's first step into a posh life of deceit, fraud, and homicide," the logline reads.

Leading the new Ripley collection enjoying Tom Ripley is Andrew Scott, who has been rising ever greater in recent times.
